Deathbyarchitecture.com
Hybrid Realities is an interactive gallery exhibition opening in May 2016. The exhibition will highlight innovative design projects that rethink how our digital universe affects the design of physical spaces. CURATORIAL VISION Hybrid Realities is an exhibition that explores how architecture can at once express new digital ideals and re-evaluate analog human sensations. The exhibition examines ways in which the digital revolution has changed our expectations of the spaces we inhabit, and poses new ideas about how design is humanized within this paradigm. Just as the automobile and jet plane changed our perception and expectations of space by collapsing the time-distance between places, the internet is also changing our perception and expectations of spatial interaction. SELECTION & DISPLAY The exhibition will be comprised of up to ten projects which will be selected from submissions to this open call, as well as invited participants. The projects will be displayed through an immersive digital/physical environment in the main gallery the District Architecture Center, located in the heart of downtown Washington DC. ELIGIBILITY The Call is open to students and professionals.
